Completion Phase: Panzer Lehr

After obtaining the much anticipated final set (Italeri DAK set 6099, not to be confused with their reissue of the old ESCI one) to complete the panzer lehr divison, I worked to get a final 70 men for this unit.  Below are some shots of the results.

Here are some shots of the mortar crews, all from the Italeri DAK set

I also kitbashed some parts to create a makeshift PAK 36 from Plastic Soldiers Company 37mm cannon from the Sdkfz 251 Ausf D kit along with some abundant sprues as the arms, and wheels and base from an old Airfix bofors set.

Here are some additional poses which help give this a Lehr Specific flavor a la France 1944

I like this one in the front who is bareheaded with his helmet attached to his kit

Two examples of men using the tobacco flock/foliage technique I learned on plastic warriors blog from Paul.  I think this method which uses PVA glue and loose tobacco I used American Spirit Brand, is very effective at creating this aesthetic.

And finally some guys in the autumn/fall side camo (they have a bit of an air of being waffen ss perhaps)
