Splinter Tutorial

A quick post for Thomas about how I did the splinter pattern. I used vallejo panzer aces splinter blotches I and II and splinter base, along with Citadel Agrax earth shade wash.

First I block in the splinter base color on the smock and helmet cover.

Next I make sharp edged blotches with the brown color all over the base color.

Then I make very thin stripes with the green color and wash all over with agrax earth shade

Hope that helps!! Enjoy

Early War Wehrmacht

As a part of my 2012-2013 painting overhaul I decided to paint up a group of early war Wehrmacht to experiment with feldgrau and uniform choices. I decided on a lighter shade of grey-green from the tamiya line. I used a number of revell panzergrenadier, esci infantry, esci afrikacorps, and some horsemen from the revell German artillery. Below is the end result. I also used a home brewed wash of some left over flat black and water to thin it down. This was my first attempt at using a wash and since have gained some more control.
